Built by the last king of Munster & Earl of Thomond & Inchiquine
more than five centuries ago, Smithstown Castle was inhabited well into the 19th Century.
After restoration in the 1990s, it was transformed into an extraordinary self-catering home to give Clare visitors a special experience.
The grounds belonging to the Castle cover almost 5 acres of mature land, through which the River Deelagh flows.
